From the train to the tube, Georgie was getting a little loopy on our long journey home…
We passed by this tree as we walked to and from Georgie’s flat.
When I first saw this tree I thought it was a decorative Christmas tree in the middle of the roundabout. I didn’t say anything to Georgie about my observations, but the more I saw it as we passed back and forth, I began to think it was more functional. Finally I asked Georgie how anyone could figure out which light to follow? She said it was just decorative- so I was right the first time.
Meanwhile, Bree and Bri had beat us back to London (understandable considering they left about 10 hours before we did) so while we were making our way back, they went to see a play. At the theater, they found a picture of Georgie on the wall:
Can you see the resemblance?
On the third, I was able to meet up with my favorite, Rose. When I had come to visit her on my last vacation, she was pregnant, and she insisted that I come back as soon as possible for their New Years Eve party. One thing I know is that babies are always more overwhelming than any new parent anticipates, so I told her to hold on to that invitation until the baby was born. As I made my plans, I decided to plant myself close enough to Rose so that I could see her if it was possible with the new baby. Sure enough, in spite of a bit of food poisoning the day before, Rose drove in and I met her and Raeya Moon in Chiswick.
We had the best time catching up, and of course, there wasn’t enough time together – there never is.
The next day I woke up to check into my flight, but the app wouldn’t let me- I was too early. I looked closer and my flight wasn’t until the next day! I had completely remembered it wrong! This was so unlike me! When I told my friends, they weren’t surprised. I had originally told them I was flying on the 5th, and then when I said it was the 4th, no one questioned it! Anyway, I got a bonus day in London and another day with my friends.
Since we were so close, I had to get a picture outside of 10 Downing Street.
One of my general knowledge trivia questions is ‘Where are the Margaret Thatcher Gates?’ I like to give very personal hints, like, ‘I’ve been there.’ Well now I had evidence! I’m not sure if these are the Margaret Thatcher gates, but I’m definitely going to add this picture to the answer section of my trivia.
We walked by the theater where Six is playing…
I have tickets to see Six in New York with my friend Amanda in a couple of days!
Georgie took us to Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration. It’s kind of like a speakeasy. Sometimes you might need a password to get in? In the past, you would be given a ball that would roll around the track as you came down the stairs and it would ring this bell.
I loved the atmosphere
It was right by the band, who played jazzy versions of pop songs.
We were most enraptured by the little plaques that described the wall decorations:
The cocktails were also very unique
Here is the ship:
We lingered in the city. We went to a gay club. Brian hadn’t been to one and we didn’t want the night to end.
But finally it did. We hugged our goodbyes and shed our tears and made wishes to see each other again someday on another adventure.
