I’d been told that Cave tubing was the best excursion there was, but since we always had a crew drill in Belize, I thought I would never get to go, but then they moved the drill to another day and I magically got a ticket!

It was a perfect balance to the Secret River– they complimented each other beautifully.

We drove through Belize for about an hour before reaching our destination, then we were given our life jackets and tubes and took a pleasant 20 minute ‘hike’ through the jungle.  I could hear monkeys talking to each other but I couldn’t see them.

The guides tied our tubes together, plopped ourselves in, and then floated down the river for about an hour.  It was so peaceful I almost fell asleep.  The cave formations were gorgeous but it wasn’t ideal for picture taking.

It was just as relaxing, exotic and special as I thought it would be.

Later that week I had another ridiculously wonderful day in St Maarten.  Our guide told us that we would be kayaking on both the Dutch side and the French side so we would be able to claim we had kayaked between two countries.  I can’t remember if I had been kayaking before, but everyone warned me that my arms would be sore.  I just loved it.

It turns out I love kayaking!  I loved just floating on the water pushing ourselves along.

We saw some yachts.

The water was spectacular.  We stopped to swim in it of course.

I vowed to kayak at every future opportunity.  It seems like a great way to explore the region.

Later that day I taught a Zumba class and a line dancing class.  It was a exercise day and my arms didn’t even feel it later!
