Stef and I were both off in St. Thomas. I think we requested to go on an excursion but there weren’t any available, so we made our own pub crawl.
We came out on Deck 11 (right outside our cabin) and realized we could see all of the places we wanted to go from the balcomy.
First we would go to Tap & Still which was right on the pier. They have a lot of choices where it comes to beer including some local brews. I had gotten a flight there and only one of them was gross. They have really good burgers there with tons of toppings including sautéed onions and mushrooms. You pick a burger or a cheese burger (I mean, the choice is pretty obvious) and then you can pick as many toppings as you like to put on the burger. Then the plan was to take the gondola to the top of the mountain and have a beer there (Stef hadn’t been up there yet). After that we would go to Kmart because Dan had asked us to pick up some jello so we could do an office tribute and put something of Micca’s in jello before he went on vacation. We would get a beer there too because that sounded like fun. Then we would try somewhere new.
So I called my mom so I could show her that we could see all of these places from our balcomy — the Tap & Still, the gondola to the top of the mountain and the Kmart.
Then Di said she would come with us. She knew a great place on the other side of the island where the ship used to dock. That would be our new place! We decided to go there first, so Di negotiated with a taxi driver and we took a tour bus over to the other side of the island. We ended up having a great lunch there, and then we found our way to the gondola. We ended up in line behind a tour group and then didn’t have enough time to go to the other two stops on our tour.
But two weeks later, Di and I made it to Tap & Still after we went snorkeling the next time we were in St. Thomas!
