It was Shark Week for 14 weeks.  There was a giant shark painted on the side.

Beaches and Rum are nice, but I wanted to see if I could find some history and culture in the Caribbean, so I dragged Stef to some ruins.  We stepped on to the grounds and almost immediately the mosquitos began eating us through the bug repellent we had borrowed from the more prepared passengers.

I thought it was awesome.

Stef was a good sport.

Most of the ruins seem to be a place where people went for fertility.

Bespeckled with bites, we boarded the bus to our next stop, a Mayan chocolate factory. We were blessed in the traditional Mayan tongue and then we were shown how chocolate was made.  Our guide even prepared some right in front of us and then let us taste it.

Then we found a bar with swings and ordered chocolate margaritas.  Now Stef was having fun.

Finally we stopped at a little collection of stands where we had the opportunity to buy souvenirs.  Instead we climbed the rocks that were shaped like dried coral until the ocean splashed in our faces and swung on some more swings.  I even found a lighthouse for my mom!

At the end of the day we still had some time to stop for Nachos and twofer ones at our favorite place in Cozumel.
